 I
first noticed this snake in the flowerpots, then he slowly moved to the
area by the garbage cans, next to the house, and then he climbed up on
the latticework in front of the garbage cans.

| Maybe the snake was heading toward this bird's nest, a few feet away. When I went back to check, the snake was gone and the cat was nearby. | ||

| The snake was on the back porch the next afternoon. After I photographed him, he made his way down to the floor and hid behind some tools. | ||

| 24 May 2011 - The cat was pawing at something that jumped and so I checked it out. "Red on black", not "red on yellow," so not a coral snake. Scarlet kingsnake, I would guess. The large leaves are magnolia. | 2 June 2003 - While digging horse manure at a local stable, I came across these eggs. They were leathery, so a snake probably laid them. | |
